Loved Mahler directed by Ken Russell, who made The Who’s Tommy and a number of awesome, anti-biopic biopics of famous composers like Franz Liszt (Lisztomania), Tchaikovsky (The Music Lovers), and in this, Gustav Mahler. Great example of how to keep abstract storytelling engaging & paced well. Some really funny, clever dialogue, too. Been wanting to see Russell’s Altered States, and now have the context and the motivation. OMG Sweet!
